Winter Artwork Camp (Ages 6–8): Artwork & Ecology

On this blended media class, take inspiration from artists on view who love nature and wish to shield the atmosphere. You will sculpt, paint, and draw with artist Beatriz Jaramillo.

This program will happen indoors on LACMA’s campus, Monday–Friday, January 2–6.

Concerning the Teacher

Beatriz Jaramillo’s work addresses the panorama as metaphor and modality, highlighting the tensions produced by the bogus separation between nature and tradition, and, within the course of, inviting the viewer to rethink their fractured relationship with nature. Beatriz studied Positive Arts in her native Colombia, and, in Los Angeles, she obtained an MA in Artwork Schooling and an MFA in Studio Artwork with emphasis in Sculpture/Ceramics. Together with her work, the artist integrates artwork, science, and expertise with group participation, with a purpose to encourage significant dialogues about environmental points. Her art work has been exhibited in a number of galleries and museums within the USA and Colombia. She additionally has served as a instructing artist at LACMA and the Norton Simon Museum, in addition to a school member at Cal State College, as a Ceramic Teacher.
